Quick Start

Get from a fresh install to hearing audio through ENFITEK A/V Engineer.

Screenshot 1 pending: full window, first launch (fresh install, before any scan — endpoint menus empty, meters at floor)

Important: the control you need first is inside a section called SETUP, which is collapsed and sits below several other sections in the window. Open it first, even though it isn't the first thing you'll see.

Step-by-step

  1. Expand "SETUP" and click "Run compatibility scan and refresh devices." This is required, not optional — it's what fills in every device menu on the page and checks that your system can run the app's capture modes.
Screenshot 2 pending: SETUP section expanded, scan complete, compatibility message showing PASS
  2. Check the privacy acknowledgement checkbox. The Start button stays disabled until this is checked.
  3. (Optional) check "Start ENFITEK when Windows starts" if you want the app launched automatically at sign-in.
  4. Go to "SOUND / OUTPUT / ROUTE" and choose a capture mode.
Screenshot 3 pending: capture mode menu open, showing all four options

Two modes are recommended for first-time use:

    • EndpointLoopback — captures whatever is currently playing on a chosen Windows audio device on this machine. Pick a loopback source endpoint (what to capture) and a destination render endpoint (what to play it out of) — these are commonly different devices.
Screenshot 4a pending: EndpointLoopback fully configured, source + destination both selected
    • Network — receives audio sent from another machine on your network. Set the network receive port (a sensible default is provided) and pick a destination render endpoint. Setting up the sending machine is a separate, more advanced topic not covered in this guide.

Note: a third mode, ProcessLoopback (capturing a single running application's audio), is real but is not recommended as a first path — see Troubleshooting below for why.

  5. Choose a channel layout matching the real speaker count connected to your destination endpoint.
Screenshot 5 pending: channel layout menu open, showing all three options
  6. Check the Route status panel. If it reports a problem, Start will stay disabled until it's resolved.
Screenshot 9 pending: Route status panel showing a real blocked-route message

Pending verification: the exact wording this panel shows for specific problems (for example, selecting the same device for both capture and output) has not yet been captured from a real triggering run.

  7. Go to "PROCESSING PRESET" and leave it on Bypass for your very first run. Every other preset is easier to understand once you've confirmed the unprocessed path works.
Screenshot 6 pending: processing preset menu open, showing the real 14-item list
  8. Go to "CONTROL AND STATUS" at the bottom of the window and click "Start audio."
Screenshot 7 pending: Control and Status section, Start enabled, ready to begin
  9. Look at the VU meter bank at the top of the window. Moving levels there are your real confirmation that audio is flowing — not just the status text at the bottom.
Screenshot 8 pending: Control and Status + VU meters, live, captured during genuine audible playback — the single most important confirmation image

Switching sources or stopping safely

"Safe source switch" does exactly one thing: it stops the current run cleanly, flushing buffers, so you can change your capture mode, source, or destination and start again. Use it any time you want to change your setup while audio is running, rather than just clicking Stop and Start separately.

Further configuration

Once basic audio is working, two optional pages cover deeper tuning — neither is needed for first sound:
